Listening to Your Inner Child

par Sister Dang NghiemJuly 10, 2021

Part of a new series of practices kindly offered by mindfulness teacher Sister Dang Nghiem, this audio offers guidance on taking care of the wounded child inside of you.

"To take good care of yourself, you must not only listen to yourself in the present, but also go back and take care of the wounded child inside of you. Practice going back and listening to your wounded child every day. This child is here in the present moment, in every aspect of your life. You can heal them right now. Be the big brother, big sister, mother, or father that you yearned to have. Embrace your own inner child tenderly."

The content of this audio draws on Sister Dang Nghiem's latest book, Flowers in the Dark (2021), a deeply thoughtful guide to healing trauma with mindfulness practice. By bringing together her lived experience as a survivor, a certified MD, and an ordained Buddhist teacher, she offers a body-based, practical approach to healing from the most difficult and painful life experiences.
