Saltern Cove
par Richard BentleyApril 29, 2022
This recording was made perched atop a boulder, one summer’s evening in August 2020 at Saltern Cove, near Paignton on the south coast of England, UK. The gently folding waves and occasional soft slap of water in the crevices between rocks, offer some restful movement in the foreground. In the distance, the modulating hum of boats and jet skis can be faintly heard, but barely seems to move, their sound being channelled and dispersed by the rocks that form the cove’s entrance and walls.
