In Plum Village Practice centers worldwide, we chant the Great Bell Chant every day. The sound of the Great Bell is so beautiful and helps us to calm our mind, relax our body. We come back to our true home and generate compassion for all living beings. We send our peaceful energy through the sound of the bell and wish that they can hear it clearly so that all suffering in them cease.

Ba nghiệp lắng thanh tịnh

Gởi lòng theo tiếng chuông

Nguyện người nghe tỉnh thức

Vượt thoát nẻo đau buồn.

Lắng lòng nghe, lắng lòng nghe

Tiếng chuông huyền diệu đưa về nhất tâm.

Nguyện tiếng chuông này vang pháp giới

Khắp nơi u tối mọi loài nghe

Siêu nhiên vượt thoát vòng sanh tử

Giác ngộ tâm tư một hướng về.

Xa xôi tăm tối cũng đều nghe

Những ai lạc bước mau dừng lại

Tỉnh giấc hôn mê thấy nẻo về.

Nghe chuông phiền não tan mây khói

Ý lặng, thân an, miệng mỉm cười

Hơi thở nương chuông về chánh niệm

Vườn tâm hoa tuệ nở xinh tươi.

Phổ Môn vọng tiếng triều dâng,

Bé thơ xuất hiện giữa lòng đóa sen.

Cam lồ một giọt tưới lên,

Xuân về trên khắp mọi miền núi sông,

Nam mô Bồ Tát Quán Thế Âm.

With body, speech and mind in perfect oneness,

I send my heart along with the sound of this bell.

May the hearers awaken from forgetfulness,

and transcend the path of anxiety and sorrow.

Listen, listen.

This wonderful sound brings me back to my true home.

May the sound of this bell penetrate deeply into the cosmos,

In even the darkest places, living beings hear it clearly.

So that understanding lights up their hearts and without hardship,

they transcend the cycle of birth and death.

And, awakened from a spiritual comatose state, they find their way home.

Listening to the bell, I feel my afflictions begin to dissolve,

My mind becomes calm, my body relaxed, and a smile is born upon my lips.

Following the sound of the bell, my breath guides me back to the safe island of mindfulness.

In the garden of my heart, flowers of peace bloom in beauty.

The universal Dharma Door

Is already open

The sound of the Rising Tide is heard clearly

The miracle happens

A beautiful child appears in the heart of a lotus flower

One single drop of this compassionate water

Is enough to bring back the refreshing spring

To our mountains and rivers.
