This is a short teaching excerpted from a Dharma talk given on February 23, 1995, during the Winter Retreat 1994 -1995 in Upper Hamlet.

"There's a novice nun who writes this to Thay. 'Dear respected Thay, I usually practice accepting all members of the sangha. I just accept them exactly as they are, I don't ask them to be this way or that way to get along with them, to see them as a member of the sangha. And when I can do this, I feel happiness brims over in me.'
"You know, that novice nun, though still very young, has already given us such a remarkable insight that perhaps even some senior brothers and sisters cannot even realize and practice — an insight that they have yet to realize and practice."
