Gift of Peace

by Sister Luc NghiemDecember 5, 2024

Here are a few words from Sister Luc Nghiem (True Adornment with Power): "This song came about in March/April 2024. The war in Gaza made me feel powerless and sad. But instead of being overwhelmed by those energies, this song came to me naturally, as it was raining outside. I deeply feel that only love can be the answer to violence, and this is where this song wanted me to go. I combined it with walking meditation, and Jocelyn, retreatant and contemporary dance practitioner, joined with her mindful dancing."

Excerpt from Thich Nhat Hanh's book Love in Action: "The essence of nonviolence is love. Out of love and the willingness to act selflessly, strategies, tactics, and techniques for a nonviolent struggle arise naturally. Nonviolence is not a dogma; it is a process [...] Nonviolent action born of the awareness of suffering and nurtured by love, is the most effective way to confront adversity."
