The First 8 Exercises of Mindful Breathing

Thay speaks in detail about the eight exercises of mindful breathing recommended by the Buddha to transform sorrow or fear into something more positive. First we find out how we can pay attention to our body in order to calm it down, then we listen to insights about the art of generating happiness (exercises five and six), after which, in the seventh and eighth exercises, we learn how to go about transforming our suffering. Like making good use of the mud in order to grow flowers, there is an art of transforming our pain that works upon the same principles.
