The Way Out is In podcast series consists of conversations between journalist and Plum Village lay friend Joe Confino and Plum Village monastic Brother Phap Huu, alongside other guest monastics. These meditations conclude each episode with practice contemplations on the theme.
#24 Active Hope: In this episode, Brother Phap Huu and Joe are joined by Joanna Macy: author, teacher, poet and activist. Joanna talks about practice and how important it is that both pain and love for the earth exist.
"They are", she says, "two sides of the same coin".
Before going hiking, after recording the episode from her home, Joanna leaves us with a guided meditation, asking us to consider all who are breathing with us in this moment: "ice skaters in the Olympics, the whales and other critters, those in drought..."
Music: From the song "Be Still" by Plum Village friend Joe Holtaway - find out more about Joe here: joeholtaway.com. Joe is happy to hear from you :) .
As we listen to this meditation, we remember Joanna Macy with gratitude ~ 02/05/29 - 19/07/25
